Not only do we raise Golden retrievers, we run a lovely little farm in the mountains here in Alta! This tab is all things farm! Amy raises rare breeds of poultry, Muscovy ducks, ADGA registered Nigerian dwarf dairy goats and occasionally we have a litter of Livestock guardian puppies. We also have added Jumbo Coturnix quail and meat rabbits.
Nigerian dwarf goats
We raise goats! Why yes we do! Registered Nigerians drawf diary goats. Pets and show quality. Our goats are from amazing dairy genetics. We raise goats for milk, not only do our puppies benefit but we make cheese and soap (for dogs and humans!)
We currently have the following breeds: Opal Legbars: These birds are not only stunningly gorgeous, they are an auto sexed breed meaning at hatch we know males from females. They lay pretty blue eggs and are FANTASTIC layers. I sell both chicks and hatching eggs. (pictures coming soon)
Isabel Ameracaunas aka Lavender wheaten: This breed has the most adorable yellow chicks you will ever see! They too lay a stunning bright blue egg.
Olive eggers: This breed comes in a variety of colors and lay all shades of olive greens!
Other breeds: French Copper (Blue and black) Marans Campine BSO Brahmas Silver Brahmas Partridge Brahmas Black, Cuckoo, lavender cuckoo Americaunas Seramas- the smallest chicken breed!
We have hatching eggs and chicks available pending the season
Ducks and Geese
Muscovy ducks are WONDERFUL on any farm! They dont really quack or have to have water! They enjoy eating flies right out of the air. Muscovy ducks are cold hardy, fantastic egg layers, naturally broody and their meat is like steak! I offer eating eggs, hatching eggs as well as ducklings pending the time of year.
Geese: American Buff Emden Toulouse
RABBITS: Pet and meat breeds!
Farm dogs & LGD'S
Every once in a while we have a litter of Great Pyrenees puppies, not often as this breed can be very misunderstood and perfect placement is a must on a working ranch with a job to do. Our adult workings dogs protect our goldens, children and farm animals from the large predator load here in Alta. We have bears, Mountain lions, bob cats, fox and predatory birds. Without these dogs we would likely have many losses to the big critters!
