A little bit about us here at Golden Treasure Retrievers and our program..... We have been raising amazing Golden Retrievers since 2003 along side of our three children. Golden Retrievers are a passion of ours and raising these wonderful dogs brings us such joy. We strive to produce stable, well rounded multi purpose puppies. A lot of time and work go into them but we wouldn't have it any other way. Our puppies are born in our home and raised on our small farm here in Alta, Ca. We have had the honor of welcoming UC Davis veterinarian, Dr. Lauren La Rue into our GTR family. Dr. La Rue will raise an occasional litter on her beautiful farm in Lincoln, Ca. She too shares the same love of this wonderful breed and has extensive breeding knowledge. Some our our adult dogs live in guardian homes, the same home and family that they will retire with. These dogs are raised by special families and come to us for breeding, whelping and raising their litter. This allows all of our dogs and litters to get the most love, care and attention, we do not believe in raising our dogs in concrete runs but in loving homes as family pets. Puppies are handled and loved, along with receiving regular grooming- accepting of a brush and nail trims. We provide all early medical care which includes exams and fecal test before going home. The puppies are raised in a clean environment with visual access to "real life" 24/7 not a solid visually isolating whelping pen. -no wooden box. They are raised on a high quality dry food and only provided with filtered water. We take puppy raising very seriously and treat them as if they were our own to stay. Our job doesn't end at breeding. We are available forever and always to give guidance and support should you request it. Generally we raise all shades of Golden Retrievers between our European, Americans and crosses of bloodlines between them. Our puppies are typically reserved before birth. Please note, we are NOT a puppy factory or kennel facility! Quality not quantity! Visitors are welcome when we do not have a litter on the ground or after puppies have been vaccinated against illnesses that can unknowingly be brought in. Guardian dogs are not always onsite when they aren't raising a litter. The health of our dogs and puppies is top priority. There is a lot of wonderful information on this site that will likely answer most of your questions, please take the time and enjoy every page.
